MY STORY

Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. As a trained vocalist with a long history of teaching and involvement in the arts I discovered the interconnections between music and our mind while Studying Music & Psychology at St.Fx university. From songwriting as a form of self expression, visualization, mindfulness, playlist creation etc. The ways of incorporating music within the therapeutic space are endless. While completing my 8 month practicum at a small private practice in the Halifax area I was able to utilize my knowledge of music and the arts along with my passion for various therapeutic approaches including Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to help clients from a variety of populations. In particular, young adults and teenagers within the LGBTQ+ community. As a therapist who identifies as a lesbian I understand that finding a therapist you share common ground with can alleviate some of the fear and anxiety seeking therapy can bring. My goal, is to provide clients with a sense of safety, through creating a non judgemental space for them to share their story guide them in navigating whatever life throws their way. I cannot wait to begin this journey with you.
